How did this happen, and who am I?

What started as a high school project for extra credit has become something more. The Age After Series has been an on-and-off hobby of mine for the past 20-some years. I have written thousands of pages, expanding a rich world filled with fully fleshed-out, dynamic characters that would have never seen the light of day, until my younger brother stumbled across some of my older files on their 3-inch floppy disks. I’m aware I just dated myself there, as much as the lack of hair did as well, (See picture for details.) He and the rest of my friends and family encourage me to go back and publish them.  

I have spent the past two years editing the first couple of parts of my book series, and to quote my wife, “removing the teenager from it,” but I could not remove my inspiration: Metal music, Silent Hill, Jacob's Ladder, and various fantasy worlds, aka D&D-like games. What is left is an epic tale of love, loss, guilt, optimism, survival, and humanity.

My love for storytelling and provocative themes comes from the lifetime sentence as a DM/GM of my TTRPG group. We have been playing for 28 years across countless campaigns and worlds, which answers the question, How do I defeat my writer's block? By locking a group of nerds into a room and shouting my plots at them until they figure it out.  

So to conclude, a 90’s metal head TTRPG Nerd decided to write a post-apocalyptic modern Middle-Earth meets Silent Hill horror-inspired book series, and we all win.
